“The Pushers” is a reflection of the universal human journey—the quiet, persistent effort it takes to move forward through life’s challenges. The figure embodies resilience, capturing that moment of exertion where progress feels slow, yet deeply meaningful.

Created by a Zambian artist, the work carries a perspective shaped by lived experience—where perseverance is not abstract, but practiced daily. It speaks to the strength required to keep going, even when the path ahead is uncertain.

Installed in McLaren Park, a space defined by its expansiveness, shifting terrain, and moments of both solitude and connection, “The Pusher” becomes part of the landscape of movement. Visitors may encounter it mid-walk, mid-thought—mirroring the internal push we all carry as we navigate our own lives.

This piece is a reminder that while the journey is rarely easy, determination, hope, and patience make forward motion possible. Each step, no matter how small, is an act of courage.
