ABOUT BIG ART LOOP
100 sculptures.
34 miles.
Free for everyone.
Big Art Loop is the largest urban sculpture trail in the world — a public art initiative bringing ambitious, large-scale sculpture into neighborhoods across San Francisco. We spark wonder, connect communities, and instill civic pride.
We invest directly in artists by placing and paying for the loan of existing large-scale works, with a strong commitment to Bay Area and emerging artists. The Loop is walkable, bikeable, and designed to give residents and visitors alike new reasons to explore the city.
Art Funded to Date
“Big Art Loop will bring creativity into our neighborhoods, connect people through activated public spaces, and drive our economy.”

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Every contribution counts, regardless of size. You can donate any amount toward a sculpture of your choice or pool a gift with friends and family to sponsor a piece together. No minimum required. If you have further questions, please reach out to Aliza Marks, Big Art Loop CEO, at aliza@bigartloop.org.
-
Every dollar goes directly to the artwork and the artist. For sculptures not yet installed, your gift supports the artist fee, engineering, installation, and ongoing care. For installed works, donations go toward the maintenance and upkeep that keeps each piece safe, clean, and looking its best.
-
Yes. Every sculpture on the Loop requires ongoing care throughout its time on display, including routine inspections, cleaning, and repairs as needed. Our team works with artists, fabricators, and local partners to ensure each work remains safe and in excellent condition. Donations to installed works help cover these ongoing costs and keep the art free and accessible for everyone.
